2025年のART OSAKAにて発表され、静かな注目を集めた写真家・奥山晴日の作品群を、Wa.galleryにて改めて展示いたします。本展は、アートフェアという大きな舞台で発表された同一作品群を、より静謐で集中した環境でご覧いただくことを目的に企画されたものです。
奥山晴日の写真は、一貫して「不可視の領域」にまなざしを向けています。特に本展に展示されるシリーズでは、神社や聖地に存在する「神域の結界」にカメラの焦点を合わせることで、通常私たちが見過ごしがちな境界の存在感を際立たせています。
結界とは、神と人とを分ける目に見えない境界であり、日本文化における聖と俗の分水嶺でもあります。奥山はその結界を、物理的・視覚的な対象としてではなく、「気配」や「空気の張りつめた質感」として捉えます。あくまで神域の“内側”に足を踏み入れることはせず、その手前からの視点を貫くことで、写真に宿る精神的な強度が際立ちます。
撮影されたのは、いずれも人々の営みのすぐ傍にある神域たちです。身近でありながら、簡単には触れることができない場所。その存在は、時に風景の一部として見過ごされがちですが、奥山のレンズを通すと、そこには確かに「超えてはならないもの」の存在が感じられます。
無音のような画面の中に立ち上がる緊張感。湿度、光、時間、音のない静けさ――それらが画面の中でじわりと作用し、鑑賞者を「境界の手前」へと誘います。
Wa.galleryでは、本展を通じて、こうした奥山の作品と一対一で向き合う時間をご提供いたします。展示空間はアポイントメント制とし、1人または少人数でゆっくりとご鑑賞いただける環境を整えました。アートフェアの喧騒から離れ、作品と自身の感覚だけに集中することで、見過ごしていた細部や作品が持つ奥行きに気づいていただけるはずです。

Following its debut at ART OSAKA 2025, the photography series by Haruhito Okuyama returns for a dedicated solo exhibition at Wa.gallery. This presentation offers a more intimate viewing experience of the same body of work first shown at the art fair, allowing visitors to quietly engage with each piece in a tranquil setting.
Okuyama’s photography consistently explores the realm of the invisible—specifically, the subtle presence of “kekkai,” or sacred boundaries found at Shinto shrines and other revered sites in Japan. Rather than crossing into these sanctified spaces, he stands at their threshold, focusing his lens on the invisible lines that separate the divine from the mundane.
In Japanese culture, a kekkai is more than just a border—it signifies a spiritual threshold. Through his careful composition and atmospheric sensitivity, Okuyama makes these unseen boundaries palpable, capturing the tension, stillness, and reverence that reside at the edge of the sacred.
The locations he photographs are often nestled within daily life—close at hand, yet set apart. While we may pass by such sites without notice, Okuyama reveals them as charged spaces filled with spiritual density. His images are devoid of distraction; they exude silence, moisture, shifting light, and the passage of time. In them, we sense the “unseeable”—not through spectacle, but through restraint and presence.
